ST. LOUIS AREA GREEN BUILDING PROJECT
HONORED AS “VISION HOUSE 2007”

Environmentally-friendly, affordable Kirkwood homes constructed by Belcher Homes will be featured in national media and at an upcoming conference

WILDWOOD, Mo. — A local green building project by Belcher Homes has been selected as Green Builder Magazine’s VISION House 2007, for its exemplary demonstration of environmentally-friendly home design, construction and product selection. As a result, the centerpiece show home of “The Timbers at Creekside” is expected to receive national media coverage and will be an official tour stop of the upcoming National Green Building Conference, taking place in St. Louis this March.

The Timbers at Creekside, located blocks from downtown Kirkwood, is the first multi-home development to be recognized with the VISION House honor. Its five, heavily wooded, secluded single-family homes incorporate the latest green building techniques and components, which help lower utility bills, improve indoor air quality and minimally impact the environment. Notably, the Creekside development is intended to be affordable for the average American family -- dispelling the myth that environmentally-friendly homes are expensive and helping to earn it the VISION Home designation.

“After ten years of building green homes in and around St. Louis, it is a great honor to be able showcase not only our environmentally-friendly and affordable VISION homes, but also the amazing beauty and natural resources of this area,” said Matt Belcher, president of Belcher Homes.

Belcher Homes is the leading green building and land development company in the St. Louis area, utilizing sustainable products, procedures and development practices to build high-quality environmentally friendly homes. Founder and president Matt Belcher is a recognized expert on environmentally-friendly homes, named 2007 National Director for the National Association of Home Builders and actively involved in many regional and national green building organizations.
